The U.S. Squash Doubles Championships returns to Buffalo, New York, for the ninth time in the tournament’s eighty-one years this weekend at The Buffalo Club, Buffalo Tennis & Squash Club, Computer Task Group and Saturn Club.

The tournament was first held in Buffalo in 1937 and most recently in 1997, with the ninth Buffalo-based National Doubles led by local tournament co-chairs Mike McGorry and David Koehler.

Eight men’s and three women’s national champions will be crowned in a men’s and women’s open division, and open age group divisions ranging from 40+ to 70+.

Two new Open division champions will be crowned in both the men’s and women’s divisions.

The men’s Open final is seeded to be contested between two Squash Doubles Association teams: top seeds Graham Bassett—a 2015 finalist—with Preston Quick, and two seeds Peter Kelly & Dylan Patterson. The strong draw includes another SDA pairing in the form of three seeds Fred Reid & Thomas Brinkman and four seeds Joshua Schwartz & Tim Wyant.

The women’s Open final is also predicted to be contested by two professional teams: top seeds Dana Betts—2015 co-champion—who enters the 2016 draw with a new partner, Stephanie Hewitt, and two seeds Dawn Gray & Amy Milanek.

Matches begin at 11am ET Friday morning.
