About Us

Hi there – We’re the BSRA. Here’s a little about us.

The Buffalo Squash Racquets Association (BSRA) was founded in 1933 and carries on the traditions of the origins of squash in Western New York through competition, sportsmanship and camaraderie.

Squash has been played in the Buffalo area since the beginning of the 20th century, with the first competitive league squash starting in 1924 when Lyman Bass kicked off league play with matches between The Buffalo Tennis and Squash Club, The University Club and The Buffalo Athletic Club.

Today, we are a thriving and growing community of all ages and backgrounds who come together to enjoy and play the game we love most.

Our Mission

  • Promote the game by providing adult and junior leagues
  • Maintain and improve coaching resources
  • Interface with US Squash regarding rules, ranking, and tournaments
  • Ensure a positive competitive play and social experience for all squash players in Western New York
