New Format Announced for This Year’s 2026 BSRA City Tournament

A More Streamlined Tournament Experience Is Coming in 2026

For years, the BSRA City Tournament has been one of the most anticipated events of our season — but the traditional format also came with real challenges. Previously, singles and doubles matches were spread over multiple weeks, with players expected to coordinate match times on their own.

While flexible in theory, this approach often led to:

  • Difficulties scheduling matches
  • Long delays between rounds
  • Late-night matches
  • Inconsistent tournament flow

This year, we’re introducing a new format designed to improve the experience for every participant.

What’s Changing

To create a true tournament atmosphere and simplify coordination, the BSRA City Tournament will now take place within dedicated five-day windows for both singles and doubles. All matches will be scheduled by BSRA tournament directors and played during these windows — no self-scheduling required!

2026 City Tournament Schedule

Singles City Tournament

Wednesday, January 28 – Sunday, February 1, 2026
All matches will be scheduled and played during this five-day stretch.
Players must be available for all dates to enter.

Doubles City Tournament

March 5 – March 8, 2026
Same format: all matches played within this four-day period.
Full availability is required for entry.

Why This Change Matters

This updated format will:

  • Reduce scheduling complications
  • Ensure timely progression of draws
  • Provide a consistent, competitive tournament environment
  • Make participation easier for players and organizers alike

We believe this shift will elevate the tournament experience for everyone involved.
