Summer Squash: How to Stay in the Game During the Off-Season

Just because the official squash season has wrapped doesn’t mean the courts go quiet! As we ease into Buffalo’s busy summer months, there are still plenty of ways to stay connected with the game and the BSRA community.

We asked around, and here’s what members of our squash family had to say:

1. Join the “Boasters” Text Group for Women’s Summer Doubles Play

Women’s doubles is still going strong throughout the week and weekends. If you’re not yet in the “Boasters” group chat (where Sally Russell organizes weekly foursomes), you’re missing out! Just shoot her a text or email and she’ll add you to the list.

2. Sunday Clinics at Nardin Are Still On

Pamicka Marinello at the Nardin Athletic Center is keeping the momentum going with her Sunday morning adult clinics throughout the summer. Whether you’re looking to brush up on technique or just get in a fitness bootcamp, this is a great way to keep your skills sharp in a fun, relaxed setting.

3. Summer Clinics, Doubles Nights, and Junior Camps at the Saturn Club

Steve Joyce from the Saturn Club shared that their women’s clinics are continuing through the summer and a handicap doubles night that’s open to all BSRA members—great for mixing up skill levels and making new connections on court. Plus, junior summer camps for all levels begin at the end of June and run through August, and are also open to BSRA members.
