The 69th annual T&S Invitational Squash Doubles Tournament was held on December 13-15, 2024. A distinguished tradition, this invitational is the oldest continuously running doubles tournament in North America. Additionally, this tournament attracts more Canadian players than the majority of the other U.S. tournaments. This year boasted a strong showing of participants, with 42 doubles teams (around 20 were Canadian) and six strong draws. The wonderfully surprising biggest draw was the Mixed Cs — showing a renewed interest in newcomers playing the game.
Imran Khan, head squash professional at the T&S was thrilled with the exciting turnout. “This was my sixth year running this amazing, historic tournament,” said Khan. “I hope participants enjoyed this year and are encouraged to return next year for our big 70th celebration.”
With the shiny buffalo trophies and Harrow swag for the winners, there will be no doubt players and supporters will be back next year. Speaking of Harrow swag…Vice President of Racquet Sports for Harrow, Dave Rosen, was in attendance. Harrow Sports, along with Buffalo Niagara Manufacturing Alliance, were the Tournament Level Sponsors this year. Rosen has been all over the country, but he couldn’t help but comment on Buffalo’s unique squash culture. “I’ve played tournaments all over Canada and the U.S. for 40 years and Buffalo has always been a special place,” he said. “The camaraderie and competition here is second to none.”
